The perforated sieve-plate pitched-blade impeller features left and right blades positioned one above the other in an asymmetric design. The blade surfaces are covered with numerous small holes, similar to a sieve, which produce a favorable micro-shear effect under low-speed, laminar-flow conditions. It is commonly used for mixing and dissolving non-viscous media, such as operations involving fibrous materials.
